Overview

We are urgently hiring a

Building Operator Assistant

to help support day-to-day operations, safety, and maintenance at a residential strata property. You will work

directly alongside the lead Building Operator

, and full training will be provided.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with general maintenance, construction, janitorial, landscaping, or facility upkeep experience who enjoys working with their hands and taking pride in keeping a property running smoothly.

No formal education required --

just reliability, initiative, and a willingness to learn.

What You'll Do - General Building & Property Maintenance

Support the main Building Operator with daily building checks Keep common areas clean, safe, and well maintained Perform minor repairs, touch-up painting, and basic handyman tasks Power wash outdoor areas as needed Assist with snow removal and de-icing in winter

Lighting & Garbage Room Maintenance

Replace interior and exterior burnt-out bulbs Maintain garbage and recycling areas Package refundable items weekly and move bins for collection

Outdoor & Parkade Work

Sweep walkways and remove debris Check parkade for spills, improper storage, or safety issues Clean and disinfect recycling containers monthly Sweep parkade floors as required

Equipment & Safety Checks

Inspect mechanical rooms, pumps, electrical rooms, and storage areas Check compressor gauges and sprinkler system components Test emergency generator monthly Ensure emergency exits remain secure Monitor lagoon and water features; remove debris when required

As-Needed Tasks

Set up elevator pads and floor protection for movers Clean ponds, walkways, and outdoor features (including seasonal seagull cleaning) Perform minor maintenance and painting as required

What We're Looking

Experience in

maintenance, construction, janitorial, landscaping, or facilities

(any related experience counts) Comfort using basic tools and equipment Good communication skills Ability to work independently and stay organized Physically able to perform regular outdoor and indoor tasks Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded

An Asset (Not Required)

Experience in building operations or facility maintenance Light electrical or mechanical knowledge Basic understanding of how to troubleshoot equipment

Training provided for all duties.
