Job Summary
The Brokerage Rater at UPS assesses all fees for the importation of international packages. Interpret data related to product descriptions and calculate applicable taxes and duties. Attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring accurate data correction and compliance with regulations.
Job Type: Permanent / Part-time
Location: 900 Hanwell Road Fredericton, NB
Workdays: Tuesday through Saturday (MUST be able to work 5 days a week)
Shift Structure: Overnight
Shift Start Times: 10:00 PM AST (requires flexibility with start and finish time)
Shift Duration: 3-5hrs, based on business needs. (MUST be able to work at least 25 hours per week)
Hourly Wage: $17.75
Responsibilities:
Assess and analyze duties on imported shipments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Review and interpret product descriptions and classifications for accurate duty assessment.
Calculate applicable taxes and duties, providing clear and accurate information.
Maintain meticulous attention to detail to identify and correct discrepancies in shipment data.
Communicate with customers via email to respond to inquiries, provide updates, and resolve Stay informed about changes in import regulations and duty rates to ensure accurate assessments.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
Strong grasp of the English language
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficient in using software tools for data analysis and reporting.
Experience in customer service or client-facing roles.
Strong written communication skills for effective customer interaction.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with customs regulations and international trade.
