Job Description

Farm Country Brewing is in need of an experienced assistant brewer to take on a variety of brewing, cellaring, and packaging roles. The successful candidate will join a small back of house team to produce a wide variety of tasty beer.

The salary range is competitive for part-time employment, with the opportunity for this role to become full-time. Some evenings and weekends will be occasionally required. Salary based on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assisting the head brewer to produce wort on our 20hL, 2-vessel Ripley Stainless system, completing quality control assessments and record-keeping, dry-hopping/fining/fruiting, and yeast management.

Canning on a 2 head Wild Goose Evolution canner.

All cellar duties including transferring to brite tanks, carbonation, and kegging.

Keg washing.

CIP of FV's/BT's/brewhouse.

General warehousing and maintenance.

Maintaining draft lines & tap cleaning/maintenance

Actively contribute to maintaining a safe manufacturing environment

Work respectfully and collaboratively within a small team.

Experience & Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot

Extremely detail-oriented and process-focused

Self-motivated, task-orientated

Excellent work ethic with an ability to multitask and strong time management

Quality control experience is an asset

Strong logistics, record-keeping, and computer proficiency

Demonstrable passion for craft beer and continuous education of beer culture

Team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, early mornings, and weekends

Physically fit for bending, long hours on foot, and to lift (25kg) and move heavy objects (50kg-100kg)

Driver's license with a clean driver's abstract

Minimum 1 years experience production craft brewery is considered an asset

Forklift experience is an asset

Able to obtain a Serving It Right certification
