The Brand Manager - Women Health OTC will be an integral member of the Marketing team, owning the success of their brand(s) and helping drive the growth of our new Women Health consumer healthcare portfolio. This includes defining the strategic roadmap and developing an umbrella branding for future franchise innovation, developing the annual plans, and leading its execution to achieve the maximum potential. The candidate will report to and will work closely with the Marketing Director.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the development of integrated and strategic brand plans (consumer, health care professionals and trade). Develop comprehensive brand strategies driven by a clear understanding of the market drivers and consumer insights. Set the vision and proactively seek new and creative ways to innovate. Collaborate with key internal teams to seek input and buy-in to maximize results.
  • Umbrella Branding: Lead the strategic brand architecture development of a Women Health umbrella franchise to create a trusted brand that will deliver unique and differentiated products that meet Canadian women expectation and needs.
  • New Product Launch: Assess and prioritize new product launch opportunities for brand(s) under his/her responsibility. Lead cross-functionally and optimize process to accelerate speed to market demonstrating clear understanding of all critical steps involved from initial assessment to actual launch.
  • Plan Execution and Promotional Materials Development: Lead the execution of all elements of the marketing mix and development of supporting promotional materials. This includes advertising (traditional and digital), HCP tools, packaging, consumer promotions, pricing, etc. Monitor, review, and assess commercial initiatives success against plan, measure ROI, and provides recommendations and adjustments on way forward as needed.
  • Market and Subject Matter Expert: Provide a deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer trends and retail environment. Proactively conduct market review, competitive analysis, and market research to identify key insights. Propose and implement action plans, based on insights, to maximize sales performance and product profitability.
  • Forecasting and Stock Management: Own, build, monitor and revise sales forecast. Continuously assess risks and opportunities and underlying causes and revise forecast assumptions as required to ensure proper financial and production planning. Take a collaborative role approach with demand planning and supply chain to monitor forecast and inventory in order to minimize and resolve overstock and/or backorder situations.
  • Budgeting: Oversee the allocation of resources to ensure that market share, sales and ROI of brand initiatives are maximized. Prepare (and update as required) financial budgets and monitor monthly to ensure plans are executed within approved budget.
  • P&L Responsibility: Responsible for establishing, optimizing, and reaching brand profitability goals. Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of all levers of the brand P&L and proactively seek short-term and long-term solutions to improve return across all areas.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration: Lead, influence and establish strong relationships with key internal partners (i.e. Sales, Trade, Regulatory, Medical, Finance, Supply) to ensure alignment, implementation, and achievement of business objectives. Demonstrate appropriate knowledge and understanding of key functions to optimize synergies.
  • Management of Key External Stakeholders: Help identify key strategic agencies and service providers, optimize how we collaborate, and maintain strong relationships. Establish and cultivate strong alliances with in-licensing partners for current and future growth opportunity.

  • Nielsen, IQVIA, consumer media knowledge
  • Knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape and channels
  • 5 years of brand management experience in Consumer Package Goods including experience in Consumer Healthcare.
  • University degree, Marketing or Business preferred
  • Strong project management skills and an ability to think and plan strategically and execute with excellence
  • Proven track record in the development of insights-based strategies focused on doing what is right for all stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical, budget, forecasting, and financial management skills
  • Well-developed expertise and knowledge of advertising (digital, traditional), pricing, packaging, promotion positioning and strategy development
  • Knowledge of advertising agency expertise & process + consumer media experience
  • Experience launching new products
  • Sales experience would be a great asset
  • Outstanding presentation skills
Experience : 5 years: Brand Management experience in Consumer Package Goods including experience in Consumer Healthcare.
