Bookkeeper/accounting Clerk

Job Description

The position of bookkeeping/accounting clerk consists of performing any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.

Tasks



Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes; Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers on computer software; Code documents according to company procedures; Compile statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses; Comply with federal, provincial, and company policies, procedures, and regulations; Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software; Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information; Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers; Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.

Qualifications and requirements



oA certificate from a recognized institution;

Ability to comprehend and understand the accounting processes, tax and compliancy rules use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, and to manage one's own time.

Reports directly to the President, Managing staff and employees

Working conditions



This position is full time house in our office/s on Hodsman Road in Regina. Hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30 pm. Summer hours may apply. Any excess hours must be approved prior to working them but the understanding is that all compliancy and priority tasks must be completed on time.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
