Bookkeeper/Accounting clerk

SUMMIT STEEL is a fully integrated steel fabricator and erector that specializes in the construction industry for the past 20 years. As a one-source fabricator, Summit Steel can be the supplier, designer and erector of any new construction or building extension project. Located in Moncton , NB, serving the Maritimes, a main steel fabricator in South Eastern NB. It employs approx. 22 employees. Our customers are generally General Contractors, we don't sell to the public.

This fulltime permanent position will be reporting to the Owner/Senior Manager and be responsible for:

Manage accounts receivable and preparation of progress billing. Manage accounts payable. Manage cash flow Bank reconciliation, General Ledger and Journal entries Enforce compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (remittances, HST). Division accounting, job costing and work in progress management. Oversee payroll functions ensuring required remittances submitted per timelines. Period end financial reporting. Year-end external accountant report coordination. Other accounting, finance and special project responsibilities as required (Ad hoc as required).
Qualifications:

2-3+ years similar experience performing full accounting cycle duties (in a construction related industry would be an asset). Experience with QuickBooks (Accounting software) would be an asset. Excel & Word proficiency. Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, with high attention to detail. Ability electronic filing and payments Salary range $ 56,000 to $ 67,000 depending on experience/qualifications Pension plan, dental medical disability insurance Moving to a new building location very soon in Moncton.
