In this role, the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of neurodiversity-affirming supports in the areas of behavioural support, regulation, and learning. In addition, this position provides direct supervision for Specialized Services Interventionists.
The BCBA must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This position requires focus on initiative, flexibility and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Job Requirements:
Build trusting, respectful relationships with Autistic children/youth and their families
Center child motivation, autonomy, and assent in all supports
Recognize and partner with parents and caregivers as key decision-makers
Complete strengths-based assessments and interviews to inform family-centered programming
Monitor and adapt supports to reduce distress and respond to individual needs
Provide direct support to children/youth and coach caregivers using evidence-based, family-focused models
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to promote holistic well-being and positive mental health
Provide orientation, training, and ongoing support and mentorship to Learning Support Assistants
Qualifications:
Master's Degree and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
This individual will have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in the field of Autism or other developmental disabilities.
The successful applicant must obtain a clear criminal record check, valid driver's license, first aid and have a valid driver's license and the ability to driver in and around Edmonton.
