Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable

Biology Tutor

to provide academic support to students at the high school or college level. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in biology and a passion for teaching. You will help students understand key biological concepts, prepare for exams, improve academic performance, and develop a deeper interest in the life sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in biology. Teach core biology topics such as cell biology, genetics, evolution, anatomy & physiology, ecology, and molecular biology. Assist students with homework, projects, lab reports, and test preparation. Customize lesson plans based on individual student needs and learning styles. Use engaging teaching methods and real-life examples to enhance understanding. Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and/or parents. Stay updated with school curricula, exam requirements (e.g., AP, IB, SAT, ACT), and scientific developments. Encourage critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and academic confidence.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred). Prior tutoring or teaching experience in biology. Strong knowledge of biological concepts and ability to explain them clearly. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in student success. Familiarity with digital tools and online platforms (for remote instruction).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with AP Biology, IB Biology, or standardized test prep (e.g., SAT Biology Subject Test). Teaching credential or tutoring certification. Experience with lab-based teaching or virtual science labs.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
