Job Overview

Pacific Tutorials is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic IB Biology & Chemistry Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in the subject. The tutor will create personalized learning plans that cater to the individual needs of each student, ensuring they gain the confidence and skills necessary to succeed.

Duties

Deliver

one-on-one online tutoring sessions

in IB Biology and Chemistry, customized to each student's learning needs. Educate students on effective study techniques, time management, and test-taking strategies. Track and evaluate student progress, providing detailed feedback and actionable strategies for improvement. Explain complex topics in an accessible and engaging manner, using real-life examples and interactive teaching techniques. Encourage independent learning, analytical thinking, and application of concepts to problem-solving. Collaborate with parents (if required) to ensure learning goals are met.

Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed to ensure comprehension and retention of material. Utilize technology and computerized resources to enhance the learning experience. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and areas for improvement. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and motivation

Requirements

Strong understanding of IB Biology and Chemistry. Previous experience working with students, particularly in an educational setting, is essential. Familiarity with special education practices is a plus, enabling effective support for diverse learners. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex concepts to students. Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to various learning styles and needs. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed academically.

Must have

iPad, tablet, or laptop with a stylus, or the ability to write on screen.

Monday - Friday, 3:00 - 8:00 pm Saturdays, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
