Summary: BillPay is a horizontal product that spans across four PayPal Inc subsidiaries. As an architect for BillPay, you would work towards simplifying the design solutions and improving the availability, reliability and performnance of the product. : As an architect, you would be responsible for working with team of engineers in ideating and envisioning, design and development. You will be responsible for designing and scaling BillPay product,

  • Define and manage architecture and its roadmap. Bring in industry trends and technologies to the product.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise, influence and provide guidance in executing tech platform refactoring and optimization.
  • Responsible for development/architecture focusing on simplifying complex integrations and providing highly available and bug free platform for BillPay partners and merchants.
  • Defines technical deliverables and provides advice and recommendations on solutions that may affect current/future design decisions.
Skillset and requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Track record leading, architecting, developing, and delivering significant, complex software projects within complex organizations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and ability to drive consensus
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a group of technical leaders and raise the bar of technical excellence across the engineering organization.
  • A strong interest in joining a highly collaborative environment and working daily with Developers, Product Managers, and DevOps Engineers.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering large scale distributed systems in an iterative approach with quantifiable results.
