Job Description


We are looking for a meticulous Billing Clerk to join our client in Mississauga, Ontario. In this contract role, you will play a key part in managing invoicing processes, resolving billing inquiries, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position is ideal for someone with prior experience in billing within the logistics or transportation industry and a strong focus on accuracy and timely invoice processing.
Responsibilities:

  • Generate invoices on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis for transportation clients using accurate data entry and reports.
  • Review and apply general ledger (GL) codes to carrier and vendor invoices before processing.
  • Prepare and deliver cost and revenue reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly updates, to internal stakeholders.
  • Address billing-related inquiries from transportation clients and collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, ensuring timely and precise communication with all parties involved.
  • Assist the Customer Service team by addressing transportation service inquiries and providing tracking updates.
  • Escalate unresolved client billing concerns to the Client Solutions Manager for further action.
  • Produce and submit both internal and client-facing reports as required.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager and other team members to address service or billing escalations.
  • Obtain approvals for requests that fall outside standard service agreements or procedures.
  • Proven billing experience in the logistics, freight, or transportation industry preferred
  • Proficiency in computerized billing systems and electronic invoicing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting functions, including accounts receivable.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing data.
  • Excellent communication skills for handling inbound inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
