About the role

Join the Homeowner Underwriting team, in the Underwriter Support Representative position. In this role, you will provide superior quality service through the delivery of consistent and accurate advice to clients and stakeholders using an in-depth knowledge of CMHC's mortgage insurance products, policies, processes, and guidelines. You will assist in processing applications and support the team with administrative tasks.


This is a temporary position of a duration of 13 months.




What you'll do:




Respond to inquiries primarily from incoming telephone calls from various clients and stakeholders on topics such as mortgage insurance products, guidelines, policies and processes. Support the underwriting team with administrative tasks. Assess needs and offer advice, support and alternative solutions to clients and stakeholders. Provide policy interpretation specific to the client's inquiry. Assist stakeholders with submitting mortgage loan insurance applications, including providing solutions to submission errors and processing manual applications. Process and make decisions on progress advance requests within risk assessment authorities. Request and monitor appraisal requests. Ensure service level commitments are met.



What you should have:




Post-secondary education in administration. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the mortgage and/or lending industry. Demonstrated experience in client service. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English). Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills. An ability to listen to client's needs to customize responses and provide advice to reflect specific situations. An ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Availability to work shifts, including Saturdays.



It would be great if you also had:




Work experience in a call centre environment.
