Our Montreal Group Benefits Life Claims unit is looking for a customer-focused, self-starter with decision-making abilities to join their team as a Bilingual Group Life Claims Case Manager on a regular full-time basis. Reporting to the Life Claims Associate Manager, the Case Manager will contribute to overall customer satisfaction, conservation of group benefit plans, and profitability of the Group Benefits organization.

Responsibilities

Assess Group Life, AD&D, Survivor Income, Compassionate Assistance Program Loans and Critical Illness claims within service standards

Review of plan member or dependent coverage and eligibility

Confirmation of the contract provisions in effect for each claim

Verification of enrollment and beneficiary information

Review of proof of death (loss) documents

Review of supporting medical\\police\\investigative reports,

Consultation with Manulife\xe2\x80\x99s Medical Consultants (for Critical Illness claims)

Calculation of eligible benefit and delay interest

Preparation of Navigator claims system records necessary to record and pay the claim.

Communicate decisions to claimants or beneficiaries, and group clients

Assist plan sponsors with queries regarding beneficiary appointments on enrollment, and requirements for submission of claim

Provide support to beneficiaries/family members in obtaining necessary documentation.

What we are looking for

Bilingualism: spoken/written French and English

3+ years insurance industry experience specifically with Group Benefits

Previous Life Claims experience is highly preferred

Ensure that privacy and confidentiality is always provided

Flexibility to adapt to change and work additional hours as business needs require

Professional and knowledgeable interactions with internal and external clients at all levels

Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Interpretation of contractual wording

Meet or exceed service standards

Broad understanding of the group benefit business

Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office

Strong organizational and time management skills

Motivated to work, to produce quality results and deliver established priorities

Knowledge of the functions performed by most other departments within Group Benefits (i.e. PIA, CSC, PSS etc.)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills - the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple sets of activities

Solid judgment - the ability to recognize quickly what needs to be done to satisfy the expectations

Approachability for constructive feedback is required

Excellent team player

Strong work ethic

Medical terminology, an asset

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location CAN, Quebec - Full Time Remote

Salary range is expected to be between $42,825.00 CAD - $71,375.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
