We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Bike Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience repairing all things related to bicycles, a strong background in working with a variety of tools and a passion for problem-solving. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our newly launched bicycle repair segment.

Primary responsibilities include:
Daily operations of our family run, mid-town Toronto sports store
Inspect, repair and service bikes of all kinds
Assembling/ disassembling different types of bicycles
Process orders for parts, supplies and manage inventory
Oversee and coach employees
Develop and implements standard work procedures to continually improve overall productivity
Responsible for a clean work environment and safe work practices
Be able to make decisions based on knowledge and experience
Respond to directives from the management team
All other duties as assigned
Bike specific requirements
Experience in all things related to bicycle repairs including but not limited to wheel building, truing, tire changing, crank arm replacement, changing derailleurs, headset overhaul, chain check and replacement, Changing brakes, shift levers and cables, etc. E-bike experience is an asset.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
Must be available to work a varied schedule of days, evenings, weekends.
Must have great personal skills, written and verbal communication skills, decision making and organizational skills
Advanced knowledge of parts and maintenance procedures
3-5 years of proven experience as a Bicycle Mechanic is required (references requested and verified)
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Certification from a recognized trade school or equivalent experience is a plus.
