We are hiring for up to two Bicycle Assemblers to refurbish used bikes at our Downtown Community Workshop (10612 105 Ave). Hours are flexible, between 10 to 40 hours per week. Pay is $18.15/hr, and health benefits are available for anyone working 25 hours a week or more. Work times are flexible.
OBJECTIVE:
Bike Assemblers (aka 'bike builders') refurbish donated bikes which are sold at affordable prices in support of Bike Edmonton's mandate to make cycling in Edmonton more accessible.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 1 year experience in a working bike shop, or equivalent
Familiarity with both older and modern bicycle componentry and repairs
Good judgment in assessing and prioritizing repairs to maximize efficiency
The ability to provide and receive constructive feedback regarding repair work
Demonstrated initiative, time management and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a communal environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
Rebuild and repair a diverse range of bicycles using new and used parts
Meet productivity guidelines and shop and bike repair safety standards
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
Other duties as assigned (for example, leading volunteer bike building sessions)
