Job Summary
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability and voluntary benefits. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information, auditing, and reconciliations. Assist with new-hire orientations. Perform quality checks of benefits-related data. Assist employees regarding benefits claims issues and plan changes. Distribute all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility. Enroll employees with carriers and process life status changes.
Responsibilities

  • Assists the Benefits Manager with special projects as needed.
  • Provides excellent customer service to employees.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Assists in the administration of employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, prescription, and pre-tax spending accounts, etc.
  • Assists in benefits administration for all employees including enrollments, status changes, and terminations.
  • Assists in the design and distributes materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions.
  • Assists with benefits data in HRIS systems.
  • Assists with the annual enrollment process.
  • Reconciles benefit invoices.
  • Documents and maintains administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
  • Coordinates transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration. Investigates discrepancies and provides information in non-routine situations.
  • Administers Family Medical Leave, Short Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related coursework preferred.
  • Computer proficiency specifically with MS Office, Outlook, and Excel - GSUITE experience helpful.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with complete confidentiality.
  • Research and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and laws
  • Must work with a high sense of urgency and an excellent customer service attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
