Overview:
The Benefits Manager, reporting to the Director of Human Resources, will be an integral part of the Human Resources Department by administering benefits for the associates of the Resort
Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service to all associates who enter the Human Resources Office and aid them as required.
Administer company sponsored benefits plans (Sun Life)
Review and maintain benefit policies
Educate associates on the benefit plan through the New Hire Orientation Program and information sessions throughout the year
Act as a primary contact to all associates with respect to inquiries relating to benefits
Process STD & LTD claims, Critical Illness and Life Loss Claims in a timely manner
Manage "Duty to Accommodate" process either internally or with the support of Genex.
Process and manage WCB Claims in the absence of the Director of Health & Safety
Liaison with benefit providers, acting as a central point of contact to resolve issues, launch new policy information and related materials
Process and update benefit providers of employee information changes
Provide timely notification to internal contacts and benefit providers of changes in employee status
Keep current on all legislative changes to ensure compliance
Analyze data integrity and follow up with vendors on any system issues (Sun Life System)
Provide recommendations to processes and policies relative to Benefit Administration within the Resort.
Participate in benefits surveys and analyze results
Update Weekly New Hire, Term, LOA spreadsheet with LOA's only
Work closely with the Payroll team to ensure a timely and accurate payroll with respect to LOA's and STD's
Administrate company RRSP/TFSA policy and handle all required system related responsibilities
Execute a Health & Safety Day annually in the Resort (Coordinate with Director of Health & Safety);
Quarterly updates to the Benefit Board
Attend any meetings that are scheduled with the Company's Broker.
To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Completion of a diploma in Human Resources Management is an asset
At least 2-4 years' experience in Benefit Administration
At least 2-4 years' experience with HRIS
Experience in managing Duty to Accommodates
Strong knowledge of Alberta Human Rights
Strong knowledge of managing WCB Claims
Individual must be analytical and detail oriented
Must be able to work under pressure as meeting deadlines are imperative
Proficient user of MS Office applications.
Experience within the hospitality or gaming industry an asset
Experience with Benefit providers and their systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast paced deadline driven environment
Self-starter comfortable working both in a team environment and independently.
This position is to report to work five (5) day per week and if required, may be instructed to work additional time due to any special events that may be occurring at River Cree Resort & Casino.
