Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Architect Interior Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will have previous experience in assisting Property Developers and will perform design, layout, coordinating, sending drawing and permits for Legal-Basement, Home Extension, Office Renovations to city, and dealing with clients in GTHA. The position requires site visit and measurements and finishing the drawing can be done as work from home or remote.

Qualifications are as follows:

Minimum of three (3) years' experience in an interior design position within the new construction house, legal basement drawing in Ontario, create residential building industry drawings Able to create site plan, exterior elevation, interior design, house extension drawing, house addition plan and have knowledge of Ontario Building Code License in Interior design and/or BCIN architecture and be able to send stamped permit drawing to city (BCIN or OAA Architect license is must) Create interior standard and upgrade suite finish design packages (color and material selection) Able to design and develop new drawings Design and develop standard typical kitchen cabinetry, bathroom and vanity, etc. as per the features and finishes sheet Asset but not required - Design and develop upgrade typical kitchen cabinetry, bathroom and vanity, etc. as per the features and finishes sheet Able to create and markup drawings as needed to be incorporated in the architectural drawing set for construction. Understanding of architectural and supporting engineering drawings Understanding of permit, preconstruction and close out process Able to create/correlate shop drawings and related documents Able to estimate and take off quantities from drawings Strong communication skills, knowledge of MS office, ability to prepare project documentation, agendas, meeting minutes and reports Familiarity with construction management and estimating software, working knowledge and experience with BIM software a definite asset Self-motivated with organizational, time management and problem-solving skills Valid drivers G license and be able to drive to various sites
Software Knowledge:

Must be proficient in Autocad/Revit, SketchUp and/or any other BIM software, have AutoCAD software Must be proficient in producing intermediate renderings(Interior design, Kitchen Design) to visualize conceptual design of spaces.

Responsibilities

Utilize Sketchup and AutoCAD/Revit to create detailed architectural designs and plans. Meet clients and be on the project site for Site-Measurement and populate to drawing, ensure Ontario Building Code applied to the drawing to prepare for building permit. Apply Ontario Building Code and municipalities code to the drawing layout. Develop Interior design and 3D drawing for Kitchen, Home and Office Interior. Collaborate with clients and team members to discuss project requirements and modify, finalize layout for city permit. Manage project timelines and deliverables. Conduct project feasibility for Legal Basement, Home Extension, Garden Suite, Laneway Suite, Side Entrance, Office Renovation, Restaurants Renovation Layout. Maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with construction standards. Oversee drafting processes and provide guidance on the use of AutoCad/ Revit/SketchUp and other design software.
