Job Description

A collection of heritage-driven, neighbourhood-centric hotels.

Archive Hospitality Group began with a mission: Revitalize architectural landmarks as vibrant places that anchor and contribute to the community. We reimagine historic buildings deeply rooted in their location and welcome travelers and locals alike to share memorable experiences. From the people and places we encounter to the connections we make; we aim to create space for all. We strive to bring the same level of quality, commitment, and dedication we give to our properties to the Archive Team.

Introducing Cassette:

We're thrilled to be opening our newest outlet--

Cassette

, located within Gladstone House on Queen West. Cassette is an elevated, retro-inspired diner and live venue offering nostalgic classics with modern flair, paired with nightly programming like live music, karaoke, and more. Whether it's a show night or a spontaneous visit, Cassette is a come-as-you-are kind of place, and we're building a team that reflects that same energy: creative, collaborative, and plugged in.

Position: Bartender

The Role at a Glance

:

As a bartender, you'll serve drinks with personality and precision in a space built on rhythm and good vibes. This position plays a key role within our bar team, crafting quality cocktails and interacting with a diverse crowd. From early dinner service to "Cassette After Dark" dance nights, you'll bring consistency, charm, and cool energy to every shift.

Your Day To Day Duties:

Bring the heat (and the ice, measured by surface area and dilution rate). High-energy service

demands speed, but never at the cost of balance, build specs, or hospitality.

Craft cocktails with purpose -- from Cassette's seasonal and signature menu to classics and

bespoke builds. You know when to shake, stir, whip, swizzle, throw, or build in-glass -- and why.

Master mise en place -- from batching and bottle-labeling to setting your station for maximum

efficiency. You know your tools, label your acids, and show up with your jiggers polished and

your par sheets tight.

Prep like a technician. You're fluent in the creation of syrups, cordials, reductions, tinctures,

infusions, and oleo-saccharums -- and you understand how they play into shelf life, yield, and

balance.

Manage par levels and anticipate flow. Whether it's a mellow pre-dinner crowd or a peak late

night rush, you're already two moves ahead on restocking and batching.

Maintain consistency in every pour. Whether you're free-pouring with precision or measuring to

the tenth of an ounce, consistency is the name of your game.

Sling drinks with confidence, not ego. Hold down the bar with charm and efficiency, while

jumping in to support floor teams, barbacks, and service staff when needed.

Polish everything. Glassware, bar tools, service style, and workflow. Keep your station clean,

organized, and photo-ready -- even mid-rush.

Contribute to the vibe. Know how to read a room, adjust the music, or interact with guests to

enhance the experience. You're part bartender, part energy curator.

Lead from the well. Support barbacks, guide newer bartenders, and work seamlessly with BOH

and FOH to keep the entire service humming.

Control your cash drawer and reconcile accurately. You're responsible for clean closes, precise

comps, voids, and reporting.

Maintain a high standard of sanitation and safety. You follow health codes and service laws

down to the letter -- from proper bottle handling to ice scoop protocol.

Show up with intention. Cassette is quirky-but-quality, and your presence, technique, and

attitude reflect that balance.

And of course... be ready for anything. Special projects, curveballs, private events, weird

requests -- it's all part of the show.

Oh, and don't forget -- Archive standards apply (you'll know them, love them, live them).

You have:

3-4 years of Mixologist experience in busy, Cocktail Bar Setting A genuine passion for and excellent cocktail knowledge The ability to stay calm under pressure in fast paced environments A flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and event nights. Outgoing personality with genuine love for hospitality and creativity.

Special Requirements and Certifications:

Must be Smart Serve certified Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job Able to stand/walk for long hours
