Overview

The Aegir Room in the award-winning Oswego Hotel is seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and customer service, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and food items according to established recipes and standards Operate the POS system, including Micros POS, to process transactions accurately Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and answering questions about menu items Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace, including food preparation areas and serving stations Ensure compliance with food safety and handling regulations Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, milk, pastries, and other supplies Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and register operations Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods

Qualifications

Previous barista experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided Experience in the food industry or food service is highly desirable Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor Basic math skills for cash handling and register operations Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is a plus Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
