Position Overview:

As a Barista, you'll be the face of our cafe. You'll craft delicious drinks, provide friendly and attentive service, and help maintain the inviting atmosphere we're known for. We're looking for someone who enjoys people, has a passion for coffee and community, and thrives in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

Duties

Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences. Operate the Aloha POS or Micros POS systems for order processing and payment transactions. Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including workstations and dining areas, in compliance with food safety standards. Assist in food preparation and serving as needed, ensuring adherence to food handling guidelines. Manage cash handling responsibilities, including processing payments and balancing cash drawers at the end of shifts. Utilize time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during peak hours while maintaining quality service. Stay knowledgeable about menu items, including seasonal offerings and promotions, to effectively upsell products to customers. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the cafe environment.

Experience

Previous barista experience or a background in the food service industry is preferred. Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques and equipment is highly desirable. Experience with POS systems (Square) is a plus. Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on creating positive interactions. Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations are essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling regulations is beneficial. Pay: $15.00-$18.38 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
