Sets up banquet tables, buffets, bars, serves food and beverages to guests, conforming to TAW Hotel's Food & Beverage Standards.
DUTIES
Preparation
Performs set-up tasks according to TAW Food and Beverage standards including placing tablecloths on tables, setting tables with silver, china, glassware, salt & pepper, sugar and various napkin folds.
Places ice water, rolls, butter, cream, milk and other required condiments on tables.
Inspects and wipes silverware and glassware.
Skirts buffet tables, bar tables and service stations.
Inspects banquet bar ensuring soda lines are functioning, bar is complete and rolls to the function area.
Sets up the bar, wine station, coffee station, or specialized drink station.
Sets up glassware for banquet bar, punch or wine/champagne station when required.
Sets bar with liquor & wine bottles, juices, water jugs.
Ices down beer and white wine.
Slices lemons and limes and prepares other condiments required for drinks.
Guest Service
Serves food and beverages to guests according to the Ontario Liquor License Act.
Follows service sequence as outlined by Supervisor at pre-function team briefing.
Greets/converses with guests in a professional manner.
Does quality checks to ensure guest satisfaction.
Opens and serves wine bottles to guests, takes order and collects payment for cash wines.
Sells and collects beverage tickets when required.
Bartender notifies supervisor or other team member if replenishment is needed.
Pour liqueurs for servers in large parties, or prepares liqueur wagon for small parties.
Clean-up
Cleans tables and separates dishes, silverware, glassware and food waste.
Carries & busses trays of soiled equipment to the kitchen dishwasher/designated area.
Returns & replenishes salt, pepper, sugar caddies, bread baskets and other service items to the storage areas.
Returns beverage products and bar accessories to the service area.
Prepares full, empty and partial bottles for the supervisor to take a reading.
Leaves the room in neat condition.
Other
Communicates problems to the Supervisor/Manager.
Complies with Hotel policies and procedures.
Performs other tasks as assigned by Management.
Actively participates in quality Teams as assigned.
Actively participates in all assigned training programs.
Assists other team members in own, or other department, as required.
Inspects tables, chairs, and other banquet equipment ensuring they are in proper working condition.
Must be able to lift 30lbs
Must be SMART Serve Certified.
Complies with hotel policies and procedures.
Safety & Wellness
Works in compliance with company Safety & Wellness policies and procedures.
Complies with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Reports any unsafe or hazardous condition/practice to the supervisor.
Maintains work area in a clean, orderly manner.
Never operates any equipment, machine, device or work process in a manner that will endanger him/herself, another worker, or a guest.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
