BAND MANAGER / EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR INUVIK NT The position of Band Manager is at the Inuvik Native Band office, and reports directly to Chief and Council. The Band Manager/Executive Administrator is responsible for the direction of the Inuvik Native Band as stated in our Mission and vision statement and exists to coordinate the operations in accordance with the policies and Strategic plan. Administration and operations must conform with Band Council direction and programs approved by Council. The Band Manager supervises numerous positions and is responsible for managing the budget to provide programs and services. The incumbent works closely with Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada which is our main funder and other leadership groups and organizations in the community. Knowledge of Band Administration Programs and Services and Council and Committee systems is essential. Experience with Band election Policies and procedures, meeting management techniques, strategic planning development, Human Resource Management, knowledge of funding sources and programs along with knowledge of Sage accounting systems and financial management as they relate to community administration is essential. The successful candidate will have proven supervisory skills, as well as proven public relations and customer relations skills. Incumbent will also possess superior verbal and written communications skills to compliment negotiation skills to represent the Band in negotiations with Territorial and Federal governments, as well as other entities. A minimum of two years experience with Management training and two years of direct job-related experience is acceptable. A combination of relevant education and work experience may be considered. Salary range for the position is commensurate with experience. Housing and relocation are not provided.
