This position is excluded from union membership.
This position has full time on-site requirement at the Office of the Comptroller General in Victoria.

There is currently one (1) permanent position available.

The Financial Reporting and Advisory Services (FRAS) Branch is responsible for championing, managing and implementing high-level finance-oriented business and accounting policies and common accounting and reporting approaches across government. The branch develops and implements financial, accounting and reporting policies to support government\xe2\x80\x99s high standards for transparency and financial accountability.

The Manager develops new accounting and reporting policies and procedures to ensure appropriate accounting for transactions in the Summary Financial Statements. The Manager provides accounting advice, outlines costing projections, determines impacts of proposed options and suggests alternatives. The position recommends changes to legislation and policies and identifies risk-related issues when analysing proposals.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • A Canadian professional accounting designation (i.e., CPA).
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively more senior professional accounting experience in all the following:
  • Analyzing and preparing consolidated financial statements;
  • Analyzing and presenting recommendations on complex proposals;
  • Developing recording and reporting techniques and applications;
  • Providing direction and advice to clients on a variety of financial and accounting management issues.
  • Experience supervising professional staff and training financial personnel.



Preference may be given to those with:
  • Experience developing practice guidance for interpreting, applying and implementing new accounting standards and policies.
