Job Description

In this position of Bakery Packer, the individual would be responsible for packaging various bakery products. They will be trained and educated on lock out procedures and safe practices when it comes to equipment handling as it applies to the job. They will also be trained on WHMIS 2015 and chemicals specific to the ones they would use. Key Duties and responsibilities \xc2\xb7 Ability to work shifts ranging from 8, 10, to 12 hours including nights and weekends. \xc2\xb7 Must be dependable and punctual \xc2\xb7 Math skills. Must possess basic math skills. \xc2\xb7 Physical stamina. Must be able to be on their feet for extended periods while they package and watch the product for quality. \xc2\xb7 Physical strength. Maybe required to lift, push or pull racks with products. \xc2\xb7 Provide ideas and solutions to help reduce finished costs. \xc2\xb7 Identify problems and possible solutions. \xc2\xb7 Work in a team setting, bringing ideas to contribute to a continuous improvement mindset \xc2\xb7 Ability to learn quickly, pays attention to detail as working with food product. \xc2\xb7 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as production runs on a schedule. \xc2\xb7 Learning the different job duties and steps involved with each stage of production. \xc2\xb7 Monitor quality of product and report any quality issues. \xc2\xb7 Cleaning of production equipment as needed (this may include sweeping, blowing with air, washing dishes). \xc2\xb7 Ensure checklists and all necessary paperwork is maintained and kept up to date and provide data to various reports. \xc2\xb7 When trained properly, understand the product flow, and how the raw materials and finished goods relate. \xc2\xb7 Adhere to working in compliance with food safety/sanitation/quality standards. \xc2\xb7 Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations including health and safety standards and regulations. \xc2\xb7 Make safe secessions and choices for their self and others. \xc2\xb7 Follow Best Operating Practices and work in accordance to those BOP\xe2\x80\x99s.
