Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and food preparation, with a keen eye for detail and excellent customer service skills. The Bakery Assistant will support daily bakery operations, assist with food handling, and contribute to creating beautiful baked goods that delight our customers.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and baking a variety of baked goods, including cakes, bread and pastries Decorate cakes and desserts with precision using cake decorating techniques Ensure all food handling and preparation meet food safety standards and regulations Package baked items attractively for sale or delivery Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace, including equipment and utensils Support the team in food preparation tasks such as mixing, measuring, and assembling ingredients Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about products and offering recommendations Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for staff and customers

Experience

Previous experience in a bakery, restaurant, or food service environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided Skills in cake decorating, food preparation, and baking are highly desirable Familiarity with food handling procedures and food safety standards is beneficial Experience in customer service within the food industry is a plus Kitchen experience involving cooking or food industry work will be considered an asset

Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
