We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and a strong commitment to food safety and quality. As a Bakery Assistant, you will support the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that all products are prepared, baked, and presented to the highest standards. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and have a flair for customer service.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and baking of various bakery items, including breads, pastries, and cakes. Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in product quality. Decorate cakes and pastries with attention to detail and creativity. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety standards. Package baked goods for display and sale, ensuring proper labeling and presentation. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their selections and answering any questions they may have about products. Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.

Requirements

Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory. Basic knowledge of food safety practices and food handling procedures is essential. Ability to bake and prepare various types of bakery items, with an emphasis on quality and presentation. Skills in cake decorating are highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
