Qualifications and Skills Required:
Degree/diploma in a relevant field (i.e., social work, social service worker, law and justice, criminology, criminal justice)
NVCI, CPR and First Aid, ASIST certification
CPIC Clearance
Knowledge of/experience working in the criminal justice system
Excellent interviewing, counselling, case management skills
Excellent report writing, recording, data collection and statistical management skills
Superior analytical and decision-making skills
Strong team member with ability to also work independently
Advanced oral and written communication and Interpersonal skills
Bilingualism required (French/English)
Key Responsibilities:
Complete the verification process and communicate outcome to appropriate stakeholders to assist in expediting court proceedings
Review client needs, recommend and initiate referrals to assist with an appropriate plan of release, review recommended conditions for supervision with client and appropriate stakeholders
Manage an assigned caseload, establish a reporting schedule and related duties as required.
Monitor client compliance with bail conditions
Participate in appropriate case management for client and determine appropriate intervention strategies base on client needs, skills, abilities and interests
Provide supportive counselling, crisis intervention, outreach, court support and enhanced community services and support as required
Initiate referrals and advocate on behalf of clients in areas such as, not limited to: housing, employment, education, mental health, addictions, income maintenance etc
Work collaboratively with other service providers to ensure access to services for all clients
Collect and maintain statistical data
