We are currently recruiting for a temporary full-time Auxiliary Program Coordinator to join our Police Communications section of the Police Services division in the Finance, Lands and Police department. The Auxiliary Program Coordinator supervises a small Community Policing Team and manages the development and implementation of crime reduction and crime prevention strategies within the jurisdiction of the Coquitlam RCMP. The purpose of this position is to address community safety issues and provide advice to the RCMP Senior Management Team regarding response options to emerging crime trends based on best practices. The successful incumbent will work closely with our community services agencies and groups to assist in implementing community policing programs. You will also oversee the management of approximately 200 volunteers through the supervision of Community Policing Services Coordinators as well as the coordination of special community events. In consultation with a manager, you will manage a Community Policing Budget that corresponds to multiple programs. Previous supervisory experience as well as a standard first aid certificate is required. The ideal candidate will have 1 \xe2\x80\x93 3 years or relevant experience, preferably within a municipal government setting, completion of Grade 12 plus relevant additional coursework or certificate, or an equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Previous supervisory experience, a standard first aid certificate, enhanced security clearance and a valid class 5 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s licence are requirements for this role. The CUPE Union position offers a hourly rate of $35.66 to $41.98 and plus 6% in lieu of benefits. The City has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
