We are looking for an experienced autonomy software architect to lead the research and development of highly reliable, secure, and autonomy platforms for intelligent and fully autonomous driving vehicles to support the entire lifecycle of machine learning, neural network inference runtimes. A strong candidate will either be an excellent software generalist, or someone who has an exceptionally strong system software background. You'll bring top-notch software engineering skills and can contribute to our systems immediately. You'll be working with members from hardware, software and algorithm teams in developing and deploying autonomy platforms. This is an opportunity to solve the core autonomy challenges and make foundational impact on a critical part of autonomous driving technology.

Responsibilities

• Define the strategic vision and execution roadmap of the autonomy software architecture together with automotive platform lead and senior leadership.
• Review and advice on software architecture and designs.
• Contribute to technical direction for autonomy software architecture, including platform, middleware, services, and backend.
• Partner with engineering teams to formulate process to ensure work quality remains high and that we are maintaining a sound software architecture foundation.
• Lead the proof-of-concept development to evaluate the architectural designs in terms of safety, functionality, performance, security, and dependability.
• Deliver accurate technical documentations.
• Follow industry trends and serve as a visible technology thought leader in the industry.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related technology degree;
• 10+ years strong meaningful individual contributor experience as a software engineer in a Linux environment;
• Solid C/C++ programming skills and experience with RTOS;
• Experience in driving technical strategy and vision for engineering teams and organizations;
• Knowledge of machine learning, computer vision, or neural networks;
• Broad understanding of real time optimization from silicon hardware to system software;
• Extensive knowledge of autonomous driving pipeline performance optimization;
• Self-motivated and enjoy exploring "undefined" territory, and solving hard problems, and building systems from the lowest level if needed;
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with building infrastructure for Machine Learning including basic knowledge of TensorFlow, Pytorch or other Deep Learning framework.
