Parts Manager

Responsibility:
Ensure the correct handling of all aspects of the parts transaction by keeping all personnel properly trained;
Ensure the accurate fulfillment of customer parts and accessories needs. Ensure prompt and fair adjustments on defective parts;
Ensure a smooth and timely flow of parts is provided to technicians;
Maintain supply and support systems, including parts catalogs, price lists, promotional literature, and other materials, by ensuring they are current, stocked, and distributed;
Maintain parts inventory by coordinating with the manufacturer on required parts, creating effective procedures to monitor both parts inventory and data input into the computer system;
Maximize the use of factory stock orders and factory return privileges to reduce parts inventory over specified number of months;
Maintain inventory of failed parts for warranty claims audit purposes;
Negotiate pricing with vendors to obtain parts;
Oversee and/or perform parts inventory counts;
Conduct inventory reconciliation;
Follow all company and manufacturer policies, directives and procedures;
Ensure staff compliance with required health and safety regulations;
Perform any other duties as required.
Qualification:
Excellent communication interpersonal and organization skills;
Ability to manage, motivate, evaluate, develop and direct staff;
Versed in all factors of the automotive inventory control system;
Good concentration with stock orders;
Solid inventory management expertise;
Effective administrative and management capabilities;
Manual dexterity for typing / keyboarding;
Computer literate for inventory, record-keeping, parts information, etc.;
High School Diploma;
5 years' experience in the Parts Department, previous warehouse experience, an asset;
Familiarity with automotive parts.
