The Automotive Parts Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the supply chain and inventory management processes within an automotive dealership or repair facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that the right parts are available at the right time to meet customer demands while maintaining efficient operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in procurement, supplier management, and customer service, along with a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair.
Responsibilities
Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and minimize excess inventory.
Oversee supply chain management, including procurement, sourcing, and logistics of automotive parts.
Coordinate shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely delivery of parts.
Supervise warehouse management operations, including organization and layout for efficiency.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to parts availability and order status.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions using an order management system.
Collaborate with the service department to support automotive repair needs effectively.
Train and mentor staff on best practices in parts management, including safety protocols for forklift operation.
Skills
Strong knowledge in supply chain management, procurement management, and logistics.
Proficiency in inventory management practices and tools such as AS400 or similar systems.
Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, repair processes, and OEM standards.
Excellent negotiation skills for supplier contracts and pricing agreements.
Ability to manage warehouse operations effectively, including shipping & receiving tasks.
Mechanical knowledge related to automotive parts and equipment repair is essential.
Strong data entry skills with attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping.
Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on meeting client needs promptly.
Previous dealership experience or familiarity with auto body repair is a plus..
