As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for the
design, documentation, development, and implementation
of CNC-controlled machine tools and industrial robotics used in automated manufacturing systems. You'll collaborate across teams to solve real-world engineering challenges--translating concepts into fully operational solutions. From schematics to software to training, you'll take automation systems from blueprint to production floor.

Key Responsibilities
Design plant floor layouts for automation systems using CAD tools
Develop and document operational workflows and control logic
Collaborate with the engineering team to design fixtures and end-of-arm tooling
Create pneumatic, electrical, and control schematics for automation cells
Develop documentation for PLCs, robots, and other control systems
Write, test, and commission software for PLCs, industrial robots, and HMIs
Integrate automation systems with the company's ERP software
Prepare operation and maintenance manuals for all systems deployed
Provide staff training on the use and upkeep of automation systems
Troubleshoot systems and recommend improvements for performance and uptime
Contribute to the development of vision systems for robotic applications
Design PC-based applications to interface with PLC and robotic systems
Qualifications & Skills
Degree in
Mechanical Engineering
(or closely related field)
A creative team player with strong problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of
PLC programming
, robotics, and automation concepts
Proficient in
CAD software
(e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
Experience with high-level programming languages (e.g., Visual Basic, Python, C++, etc.)
Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
A self-starter with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
Previous co-op or internship experience in automation is an asset
