Epiroc Customer Center is looking for a highly motivated and results driven Automation technician to support our customers in our Western and Mid-western regions.
JOB SUMMARY:
As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and functionality of Epiroc technology systems. Your duties require electrical and mechanical knowledge as well as a good IT network understanding. Automation technicians monitor and perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs. The technician needs to be able to troubleshoot the issue and determine if the problem is mechanical, electrical or from the computer systemscontrolling the process. You will possess excellent technical skills and will be able to represent Epiroc in a professional and ethical manner while working under very little supervision. Extensive travel to customer sites throughout Canada will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Servicing and commissioning Epiroc products.
? Performing audits and preventive maintenance on Epiroc products.
? Troubleshooting and problem solving.
? Documenting and reporting technical product issues.
? Establish a good working relationship with customers.
? Establish a good working relationship with your co-workers.
? Creating and updating daily service reports.
? Work with customers operations departments to ensure levels are set up to meet the meet their production timelines.
? Work with customers planning and mobile teams to ensure Automation PMs and repairs conducted in conjunction with mechanical PMs.
EXPERIENCE:
? A minimum five years of related work experience within the mining industry.
? Automation experience.
? A strong knowledge of Epiroc equipment would be an asset.
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION:
? Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician certification would be an asset.
? Electronics or electrical engineering technician or technologist diploma.
? Electronics and instrumentation knowledge.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
? Excellent computer skills with Windows, MS Office, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange etc...
A strong understanding of Network infrastructures
? Fluent in both English and French.
? Mechanically inclined.
? Fluent in both French and English would be an asset.
? Good written and computer-based skills.
? Strong attention to detail.
? A proven self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
? Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
