Description:

Position Summary:

We are seeking a self-motivated candidate to provide controls support to a highly automated and fast paced distribution center. The qualified candidate should have strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills with a strong background in industrial controls. The position will require experience with the latest versions of the various PLC\'s, VFD\'s and HMI\'s to be used in conjunction with a strong understanding of electrical controls systems, mechanical drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, PC\'s, robotics, and Ethernet networks.

This role will operate out of the Langley, BC reporting to the Distribution Manager.

Key Job Responsibilities:

o Provide expertise using electronics, servos, robots and computer systems.

o Lead root cause problem solving sessions to review specific pieces of the process with the goal of eliminating waste and downtime to meet all distribution team goals

o Maintain comprehensive log of all preventative inspections and other significant Cimcorp equipment related issues and activities.

o Ensure that system is operating optimally or take immediate corrective actions.

o Make recommendations if system should be operated differently.

o Make proposals on how the overall system could be improved.

o Troubleshooting:

\xc2\xb7 Take part in troubleshooting.

\xc2\xb7 Analyze errors and plan corrective measures to further prevent problems.

\xc2\xb7 Execute corrective measures in co-operation with other Cimcorp organizations.

\xc2\xb7 Develop methods together with customer to determine root causes.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain records of system error quantity and error severity in order to prioritize the corrective actions.

o Ongoing control of the system functionality and initiatives to improve the system and practices

\xc2\xb7 Ensure that system is operating optimally or take immediate corrective actions.

\xc2\xb7 Make recommendations if system should be operated differently.

\xc2\xb7 Make proposals on how the overall system could be improved.

o Weekly meetings and reporting activities

\xc2\xb7 Take part in weekly/biweekly meetings with Langley DC management team.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain comprehensive log of all preventative inspections and other significant Cimcorp equipment related issues and activities.

o Spare part management

\xc2\xb7 Assist in having adequate spare part stock and act as link between Cimcorp and the Langley DC.

\xc2\xb7 Make spare part recommendations.

\xc2\xb7 Specify needed supplementary parts in co-operation with the Cimcorp Customer Support group.

o Provide support for the manufacturing Ethernet network and act as a liaison between distribution personnel and corporate IT

o Supports without hesitation Distribution Center Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes & are Priority #1.

o Assures that General Safety and Food Safety is an absolute priority by setting the example as a member of senior management.

o Work closely with distribution supervisors and managers to provide effective controls support

o Promote a strong teamwork environment

o Ensure equipment in area is maintained, guarded and operated in accordance with defined safety regulations and procedures

o Understand levels of scrap and rework in area caused by equipment issues and associated points of cause

o Identify potential cost savings and cost avoidance

o Participate in budget planning for area and department.

o Strong experience with the following software packages

\xc2\xb7 Microsoft Office

\xc2\xb7 Robotic Softwares

o Strong overall electrical knowledge and experience with control systems is a must

o Excellent communication skills and effective team building skills a must

o Must be a self-starter.

o Willing to travel for training and visit suppliers, bakeries and other locations as need, albeit it infrequently.

Position Requirements

\xc2\xb7 A degree or diploma in Mechatronic Engineering, Engineering Systems and Computing, Robot Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls, and/or related industry experience

\xc2\xb7 Holding an electrical license or Millwright experience would be an asset

\xc2\xb7 Experience in a consumer-packaged goods environment is preferred

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated leadership and growth potential

\xc2\xb7 Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, depending upon assigned projects
