POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the
SITE ENGINEERING MANAGER the Automation Project Manager is considered a controls resource for the site, responsible for leading and executing small engineering projects, process improvement technical execution and supporting resource controls issues across the site. This role will also be the lead managing and organizing controls systems, programs, tech resources and setup for the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating engineering projects related to new equipment, production improvement and control systems across the site
  • Lead various automation change projects
  • Update schematics when changes are made
  • Ownership and Management of the site Controls Programs and Software
  • Ownership of controls laptop standards and setup
  • Ensuring all electrical and controls deliverables in place, and leading training of maintenance resources for new systems and projects
  • Resource level support for high level control issues, become the controls expert and go-to resource in the plant
  • Input to and execution of obsolescence management
  • Lead for equipment integration and inter-communication
  • Other related tasks.


REQUIREMENTS Technical degree in industrial controls/PLC or equivalent education/experience5-10 years of relevant experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industryAbility to review and update electrical schematicsPractical experience and working knowledge of Rockwell components and softwareExperience implementing and troubleshooting safety circuits and componentsExperience navigating programs and troubleshooting robotics, vision systems, servo controlsAbility to manage multiple projectsMust possess effective written and verbal communication skillsMust possess a strong curiosity, willing to learn and understand the plant’s ever evolving technology
Ability to make decisions and solve problemsWillingness to travel occasionally to equipment suppliers or for support work in other sites in the area
