Job Description




The Project Manager drives cross functional development projects from kickoff to operations handover for the ATS SuperTrak Group. Responsible for driving project plans for all development projects they lead, while ensuring that all project team members understand critical milestones, risks, and activities. In this role, you will be responsible for not only leading key Projects but also for mentoring, guiding and supporting team members delivering smaller projects.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under general direction, responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects.
  • Focus on three Key Performance Indicators for all projects they lead: On-time Delivery, On-Budget and Stakeholder Satisfaction that the requirements were all met
  • A primary stakeholder and collaborator in defining project scope and objectives
  • Central contact for assigned projects. Maintain regular contact (verbal and written) with key stakeholders, ensuring all key project events and issues are documented in writing.
  • Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
  • Project Planning
  • Develop suitable budget allocations for ATS labour and materials.
  • Oversee project schedule development and identify all critical path activities.
  • Conduct Initial Project Build Plan meeting
  • Manage project resources. Ensures that adequate resources are assigned to all project tasks.
  • Project financial management
  • Project Forecasting:
  • Prepare accurate financial and resource forecasts. Prepare reports as required by the leadership team
  • Team Leadership:
    • Drive effective project team communication on a regular basis.
    • Lead by example.
    • Manage projects and project teams in accordance with all applicable ATS procedures. Ensure project teams follow the required procedures. Conduct regular team meetings and issue weekly project updates to the project team.

Additional Information


QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Post- secondary college diploma, engineering degree or equivalent, specializing in electronics, electrical, mechanical or controls engineering; Completion of or in the process of achieving the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset. Experience:
  • Must have experience managing cross functional product development projects
  • Sound knowledge and experience leading projects through all phases of the product life cycle (prototype, NPI, production and end of life)
  • Must have acted in a leading role with a minimum of three years’ experience in a variety of projects/markets on a multidiscipline team.
  • Must have a practical working knowledge of robots, PLC’s, instrumentation or other machine controls packages, sensors and pneumatics.
  • Preference will be given to those who possess an excellent manufacturing or process engineering background, a superior mechanical aptitude and proven trouble-shooting skills.
  • In addition, must be familiar with the use of computerized word processing and computerized spreadsheets and AutoCAD or similar drawing package.
