Job Description


Our client, a manufacturer and integrator of automated pack and sortation systems for high volume warehouse and distribution centers, has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join their project management office (PMO) team.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in the successful delivery of automation projects, ensuring strong project communication, integration, meeting project scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives throughout the project life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and integrate projects across all functional groups including the Customer\'s team.
  • Establish communication channels and distributes key project information to provide a communication bridge between the project team and the Customer.
  • Work cooperatively with design engineers, controls engineers, management, purchasing, sales and manufacturing.
  • Collect project requirements, develops scope definition and establishes high level project goals and objectives for the project team in alignment with project contract documents and the Customer.
  • Develop project costs and schedules ensuring commitments from functional groups.
  • Track and manage project critical path activities and deliverables.
  • Provide project leadership and manage project execution.
  • Ensure project quality objectives are met by developing a quality plan and performing quality checks (e.g., specification approvals, factory & site acceptance equipment tests).
  • Report project progress to the Senior Management.
  • Monitor project risks and recommend mitigation strategies. Undertake initiatives to exploit opportunities to increase project value to the company and the Customer.
  • Monitor and manage project changes and where appropriate issue Change Notices for Customer approval.
  • Approve project invoicing according to the milestone payment schedule and work completed.
  • Monitor project cash flow and spending.
  • Initiate, manage, or delegate management of subcontracts and subcontracted deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Functional Managers to meet project resource requirements while ensuring optimum resource allocation across multiple PMO projects is achieved.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in machine building and systems integration.
  • Minimum 5 years of Project Management experience in the delivery of automation solutions to the end users and integrators in the Packaging or Logistics industry.
  • Strong Technical and business aptitude supported by a degree or diploma in engineering.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
  • Good, working knowledge of MS Project or similar scheduling software.
  • Good understanding of AutoCAD or 3D design methods.
  • Good grasp of ERP and Purchasing Administration.
  • Excellent and experienced communicator at all levels of the organization.
