Autism Nova Scotia delivers programming in Halifax and in nine communities across Nova Scotia through our Regional Autism Centers. Our three program divisions are: Social & Community Inclusion; Employment Support; and Family and Caregiver Support. Autism Arts Coordinator \xe2\x80\x93 Halifax Term:\xe2\x80\xaf10 Month (September 2023- June 2024) with possibility of extend/renew Start Date:\xe2\x80\xafSeptember 2023 - June 2024 Accountability: The Autism Arts Coordinator is accountable to the Recreation Manager. The Autism Arts Coordinator shall provide frontline facilitation and support to participants enrolled in the Autism Arts program Position location: Halifax, Nova Scotia Salary: TBD Competition No. 2023- 029 What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing\xe2\x80\xa6 The Autism Arts program invites children, youth, and young adults ages 5-25\xe2\x80\xafwho are on the autism spectrum to explore art mediums through self-expression. The program creates an opportunity for new friendships to develop and participants to take part in a positive recreational experience within the community. Autism Arts incorporates a team-teaching approach, with the Autism Arts Coordinator and the Art Educator who work together to maximize the success of each participant\xe2\x80\x99s experience.\xe2\x80\xafAutism Arts consists of eight-week sessions that take place on Saturdays during the months of October \xe2\x80\x93 December (Fall Term), January \xe2\x80\x93 March (Winter Term), and March \xe2\x80\x93 May (Spring Term).
