The Medical Office Administrator is a specialized clerk who is trained to handle administration and task management in an interprofessional, collaborative health care environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
? Efficiently use the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other health software to maintain patient records (CHR within Athleticare)
? Greeting patients, booking appointments, and communicating messages
? Checking in patients and handling patient inquiries
? Stocking rooms with appropriate medical instruments
? Preparing forms
? Call patients from time to time to explain instructions
? Booking other varying types of appointments (e.g. ultrasounds etc)
? Taking messages
? Handling in/out baskets and sorting papers
? Act as liaison between physician and front desk for messages to be given to patients
? Help maintain cleanliness of clinic
? Answering incoming calls on a multi-line switchboard, directing calls as needed
? Communicating messages between patients and staff
? Manage the incoming and outgoing mail as/if required
? Assure and maintain an environment conducive to efficient workflow (filing, organizing, cleaning, etc.)
? Organization of paper and electronic files as needed
Accountabilities
Athleticare Medical Office Administrator staff will report and be accountable to the clinic Office Manager for supervision of tasks, direction of day-to-day tasks, and any and all scheduling.
Qualifications
? Certificate for Medical Office Assistant (or equivalent) is an asset
? 2-3 years of experience within a clinical setting as an MOA or dedicated receptionist in a similar setting would also be accepted.
? Other higher education would be considered an asset.
? Experience as Healthcare Aide would be considered, with 2-3 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
? Experience dealing with insurance and billing criteria, both private and provincial
? Experience using an EMR would be considered an asset.

Open Positions
? Hourly pay rate ranges from $15.50 - $22.00/hour, based on past experience and certification.
? Schedules may vary, the facility is open 7 days a week, 10 hours minimum a week required/guaranteed.
? Work will be located on-site at West Edmonton Mall Phase 1 on the 2nd floor, in the ZerOne Athleticare Clinic.
