Base + Comm-Freedom Experience is about building trust through every interaction with our plan members and represents a shift for our organization. The Freedom Experience team is tasked with proactively identifying, understanding, and delivering on products and solutions to meet the needs of our plan members using new tools, new processes, and data.You will be an integral part of the Market Development team, with a focus on growing Plan Sponsor, Advisor, and Consultant relationships across Canada. This role executes on the vision of a member-focused organization providing support to our Advisors, Consultants, and Plan Sponsors, through our Business Development Sales and Service teams. You will work closely with our Business Development teams, helping them drive their results by providing consultative product, marketing, sales, and service expertise.This person will be a self-starter, able to work independently to problem-solve and proactively identify opportunities and solutions. This person will have a strong sales orientation, an entrepreneurial spirit and will work collaboratively with other Freedom Experience teams to ensure our strategy and capabilities are integrated as core to the Workplace Solutions ecosystem.The role requires intrinsic understanding of how to help Advisors and Plan Sponsors grow their business and will ensure that referrals are directed appropriately and supported throughout the life cycle. Your expertise in either Group Benefits or Group Retirement Services, combined with knowledge of financial services, insurance standards, and Canada Life products and solutions, will support an evolving end-to-end customer experience that is market differentiating.What you will do

  • Exemplify service excellence and strong collaboration skills to work effectively across Freedom Experience and Canada Life
  • Work with Workplace Solutions partners to share Freedom Experience's value proposition with our Group Benefit/Group Retirement Services customers
  • Promote Freedom Experience service and offering to Advisors, Consultants, and Plan Sponsors
  • Leverage Freedom Experience's offering to: (i) actively build and strengthen Advisor / Consultant relationships, and (ii) build the bridge to Plan Sponsor engagement by driving marketing messages to their employee base.
  • Support Business Development sales and growth objectives by building relationships with key people in assigned regions
  • Contribute to the development of the team by creating innovative sales ideas and implementing best practices; develop new sources of business through proactive sales strategies
  • Offer appropriate solutions to win relationships
  • Take part in pilots and initiatives to share Freedom Experience's products and services across Canada Life; embrace the 'One Canada Life' mentality
  • Participate in regular reviews, lessons learned and other retrospectives to ensure personalized approaches continue to meet plan member needs and expectations
What you will bring
  • 5+ years of experience in the Canadian insurance and/or financial industry
  • Knowledge and experience in group benefits and/or group retirement
  • Attainment of professional industry-related designations such as CEBS or LLQP will be considered an asset
  • Sales +/or experience working with advisors in any channel is an asset
  • Confident communicator and facilitator with the ability to present, train and transfer complex knowledge in a manner that is clear, effective, and appropriate for the audience
  • Self-starter and ability to self-motivate
  • A confident, independent individual who enjoys a variety of tasks and interactions that are dynamic and changing
  • High degree of commitment and professionalism is expected
  • Strong product, technical and service knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including an ability to overcome objections diplomatically and influence the opinions of others
  • Track record of consistently achieving business and financial goals
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new situations, directives and initiatives

  • Occasional travel will be required
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
-The base salary for this position is between $63,500 - $105,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
