Description:

The Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources (CIRHR) at the Faculty of Arts & Science invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Industrial Relations and Human Resources. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2024.

We seek a candidate with expertise in industrial relations/employment relations and human resource management. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Relations or a related area, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. While other candidates will be considered, we have a special interest in those who have a focus in human resources, labour relations, and labour market policy. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing strengths as a . Candidates will have an established international reputation and will be expected to sustain and lead innovative and independent research, and to maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program. The successful applicant will teach undergraduate courses at the University of Toronto St. George campus and will also become a full member of the Graduate Department of CIRHR of the University of Toronto, undertaking graduate teaching in our professional master\'s program and the supervision of doctoral students at the St. George campus. The successful candidate may also eligible to be named the CIBC Chair in Youth Employment for a five-year term, which will be renewable following a favourable review.

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence which can be demonstrated in their submitted research statement by a record of sustained high-impact contributions and publications in top-ranked and field relevant journals, as well as high quality working papers, presentations at significant conferences, awards, and accolades, and other noteworthy activities that contribute to the visibility and prominence of the discipline, as well as strong endorsements from referees.

Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier (with required materials outlined below) submitted as part of the application, as well as strong letters of reference.

Candidates are also expected to show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment demonstrated through the application materials.
