Job Description

Lundbeck Canada is currently looking for a Medical Affairs Associate to join the Medical Affairs department. This position is one-year contract based in the Montreal Head-Office. The employee will report to the Vice President, Medical and Regulatory Affairs and dotted line to the Scientific Advisor in Psychiatry.

This position is defined as a post-graduate internship as the Medical Affairs Associate will learn about the pharmaceutical industry while contributing and supporting the Scientific Advisor for the neurology port folio and the medical affairs team. Lundbeck Canada offers a flexible working environment (office-home).

Responsibilities

The Medical Affairs Associate will provide support mainly to the Scientific Advisor (SA), and all other Medical Affairs team member as needed, in the following (not an exhaustive list):

  • As an active member of a therapeutically aligned Medical Affairs team, assist in the development and execution of local medical strategies
  • Support SAs in pooling scientific evidence related to disease area, product situational scan and competitive landscape and communicate findings to internal teams
  • Monitor competitive intelligence
  • Support the development of fair, scientifically balanced presentations, and written materials to address customer needs (for ex., sales training)
  • Update (or create) scientific materials and slide deck references and adapt global scientific materials to be used in Canada
  • Help develop other scientific communication materials and provide congress support (post congress reports, slides, etc.)
  • Participate in the approval of promotional material in Veeva
  • Assist with report writing and coordination of publications and medical writing to support data dissemination activities
  • Support project management for ongoing data generation activities
  • Support investigator-initiated studies by assisting the SA in assessing and submitting research requests, and as needed engaging investigators to ensure the successful execution and satisfactory completion of studies
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings
  • Collaborate with SA or MSL on delivering internal training to cross-functional colleagues
  • Advance other projects to support Medical Affairs activities (i.e., issue management, special projects, literature search, formulary submission, etc.)
  • Assist with the planning and execution of Advisory Boards and Regional Consult Meetings
  • Collaborate with SA and Medical Education team in the development and execution of learning activities
  • Other medical affairs related tasks as needed and identified by team
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Pharm D, PhD Degree in Science or Health Sciences or MD.
  • The following education background could also be considered: MSc in life science or another university degree in Life Sciences with relevant additional experience; current enrollment in a graduate degree program (PhD or MSc); or a professional degree program (PharmD)
  • Expertise in Psychiatry or Neurosciences is required
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) and listening skills; must be bilingual in French and English
  • Must understand the Canadian regulatory and pharmaceutical landscape
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a strong asset
  • Understanding of Canadian clinical research environment is a strong asset
  • Ability to understand and integrate complex scientific concepts
  • Good negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage projects efficiently
  • Self-driven and strong ability to identify needs or opportunities and take action proactively
  • Results oriented with proven ability to shift priorities at short notice and work to demanding deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team in a highly dynamic environment
  • Proficient with various databases and the Office 360
