We are presently recruiting for an Associate to join the Business Intelligence Partner (BIP) team within the Risk and Business Intelligence (RBI) department for a 12 Month Contract. The BIP team delivers actionable insights and flexible analytical solutions to support management and department decision-making, as well as Board oversight. The team provides an integrated, independent view of the Fund's key investment and business metrics by leveraging data, technology, and partnerships with cross functional departments.

The Associate is a key role providing input to reported analytics on performance, exposure, cost, risk and value-add for internal business partners and Senior Management across the total Fund and investing departments. Additionally, the Associate will be responsible for conducting exploratory analysis and research related to total Fund activities as well as creating reports that deliver meaningful insights on departmental activities. The candidate will leverage quantitative, analytical, and communication skills to deliver relevant information and insights.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:
  • Produce exploratory total Fund and department analysis to effectively communicate the story behind the numbers to Senior Management
  • Develop compelling materials to facilitate discussions including creatively conveying data and analysis with narratives, charts, tables and other visuals
  • Support new analytics initiatives to provide insightful recommendations to internal business partners and Senior Management
  • Develop and foster effective working relationships within the team and cross functionally, including investing departments, Finance, RBI, and Total Fund Management.
  • Address ad-hoc requests for analysis to facilitate the Board discussions, support evaluations of investment programs and strategies, and identify drivers of value-add
  • Enhance data workflows to automate data collection from disparate databases and improve processes as well as building effective analytics systems
  • Develop into a subject matter expert on the Fund's public market programs and public markets in general, to support information and analytics needs across RBI and the Fund
Qualifications

If you possess the following, we'd like to hear from you:
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Completion or progress towards business or finance-related graduate degrees or professional designations considered to be assets (i.e. CA, CFA, MBA, FRM, CIPM)
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in management reporting roles in investment management, pension funds, or the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of the investment industry, including performance measurement, financial analysis techniques and key metrics
  • Experience developing insights and dashboards utilizing Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI, or experience working with data and applying programming languages such as SQL or Python to develop solutions considered an asset
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Ability to communicate complex, technical concepts in plain language and demonstrated talent for effective oral and written communication including development of compelling materials
  • Superior analytical skills and strong attention to detail, ability to think critically and creatively
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and work in a high-performing culture, with time-sensitive deadlines
