Associate Brand Manager (12 month contract)

Role Responsibilities

The Associate Brand Manager's mission will be to assist in planning and executing marketing and brand strategies - including key consumer and business needs & insights, brand planning, pricing, packaging, promotions and advertising. They will also demonstrate business leadership by managing brands as a business - managing P&L, financial measures and ongoing budget management; recognize opportunities to improve brand and business health and make recommendations accordingly; and demonstrate excellent execution of brand initiatives in collaboration with sales and field marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Budgets; Manage brand budgets, SAP, vendor invoices and business reporting
  • POS & Selling tools; Facilitate the development and execution of all POS materials
  • Monthly Reporting; Monthly review of sales data and brand performance reporting
  • Regional Executions: Work closely with provincial sales teams and field marketing to ensure flawless brand activation at the local level, work with Field Marketing Managers to regionalize national brand programming and deliver custom regional programs where applicable
  • Compliance: Ensure all packaging and marketing communication meets brand, national regulatory, legal, and Beam Suntory marketing codes
  • Product samples: Order product samples and liquid value adds
  • Lead agency partners in the development of brand programs and activations
  • Develop brand plans, with coaching from Sr. Brand Manager
Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Business or Marketing preferred
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum 2 years marketing experience, CPG experience an asset
  • High level of accountability, flexibility and self-direction, coupled with eagerness to learn and take direction from leaders as appropriate
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross functional departments, primarily sales and finance
  • Availability to travel - approx. 10% or as needed

  • Commercial and Financial Acumen: Understand & interpret brand P&L, shipment and depletion information, value and volume share trends. Demonstrates a good understanding & management of effective budgeting, pricing and cost management

  • Marketing judgement: Makes decisions based upon consumer insights, commercial and practical considerations.

  • Communication Skills - Demonstrates strong communication skills, presenting ideas and thoughts in a professional, clear manner to all key stakeholders both internal and external. Inquisitive, open-minded and actively interested in learning about the business
