Rorabeck Sowerby Theriault LLP is busy eight lawyer firm, practicing in the areas of family law (including child protection), real estate, wills and estates. We are looking for an associate lawyer who is available to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in family law or child protection law. Real estate experience will be considered an asset. The position will be primarily in the area of family law but there may also be an opportunity to expand into other areas of practice if qualified.

We are looking for a self-starter with a good work ethic, research and writing skills, a desire to work in litigation and an interest in family law.

Your roles and responsibility would include:

Managing a roster of family files and assisting senior counsel on complex matters Communicating directly with clients and advising them on their legal issues, including divorce, custody and access disputes, property division, child and spousal support Drafting court documents, including pleadings and motion materials as well as Separation Agreements Negotiating with opposing parties or their counsel Written correspondence with other parties and lawyers Attending at Superior Court (both in person and via Zoom), including conferences, motions and trials Researching legal issues and preparing memoranda
