  • This is a Hybrid position with a requirement of 2-3 days per week based from out Toronto office.
  • This is role is responsible for General Ledger Accounting to ensure proper R2R disclosure. This includes consolidation entries & regular review of accruals. Responsible for the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, completed on a monthly and quarterly basis. This activity ensures the balance sheet and P&L reporting is up to date and accurate & internal reporting requirements are met
  • Additionally, there is a strong component of inventory & COGS accounting. Management of Goods Received Not Invoices.
  • Intercompany Accounting
  • Accounting of Fixed Assets
Externally, reports are created and sent to governing agencies including Stats Canada, Patented Medicine Process Review Board (PMPRB), Innovative Medicines Canada to ensure legal and/or regulatory requirements are met with respect to financial reporting.
  • Leading of revenue Canada tax audits by providing the data as requested by the auditor and respond to queries during the audit to minimize any tax assessment for the organization.
  • Further responsibilities are supporting in internal & external financial statement audit requirements
  • Support in Tax compliance & tax payments in close cooperation with the tax advisor and the Senior Manager.
Banking & Credit Card maintenance/closure/support, opening of bank accounts, WIRE info maintenance & bank relationships)
  • Support in Banking, AP, Cash related (as Back-Up)
  • Supports the Senior Manager, Corporate Finance in various items
  • Support in Ad-Hoc Projects (e.g. SAP Implementation)
  • Support in preparation of policies
  • Maintenance & Cont. Improvement of the internal control systems
  • Support in cont. improvement of Digitalization projects in Accounting
Strong support in setting-up & maintenance of ERP-system

Qualifications

5 Years' experience in accounting related roles with exposure to General Leder Accounting
  • Transactional accounting experience
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or equivalent (ACCA), long term accounting experience
Strong Hands-On Mentality. Strong requirement to implement policies/standards

Strong IT/ERP knowledge (preferred SAP-Hana)

Understanding of accounting and tax concepts to ensure financial accuracy and audit compliance

High level of resilience
  • Demonstration of flexibility to cope with change & different/multiple priorities
