The Associate Director, Veterinary Services - Cattle & Equine provides strategic veterinary leadership and technical expertise across Zoetis' Canadian Cattle and Equine portfolios. This role leads a high-performing team of veterinarians, driving excellence in veterinary operations, customer engagement, and scientific communication. The incumbent will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, and R&D to ensure the delivery of impactful medical strategies that differentiate Zoetis products and support sustainable business growth.
This position is based in Canada and includes 40-60% travel.
ResponsibilitiesLead and mentor a team of field veterinarians to provide outstanding support of Cattle and Equine products through the provision of technical and medical expertise to internal and external customers. Leverage extensive commercial veterinary experience to partner closely with sales and key accounts, integrating medical expertise with market insights to enhance client engagement, optimize sales effectiveness, and accelerate business growth. Set strategic objectives and manage departmental budgets and resources effectively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, VMRD) to align veterinary strategies with business goals. Provide medical and technical leadership to the Cattle & Equine business within the Livestock Business Unit. Support clinical trials and post-market studies to generate data that enhances product positioning and customer confidence. Collaborate closely with Product Support and Regulatory teams to deliver accurate, technically accurate guidance and focused support, ensuring an exceptional customer experience through a proactive, solution-focused approach. Contribute to the development and execution of product launch plans, promotional materials, and training programs for internal and external stake holders. Help identify key Zoetis leadership opportunities within the veterinary profession. Manage the effective use of the clinical trials program and budget to support marketing strategies. Build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), veterinary schools, associations, and commercial customers. Represent Zoetis at industry events, conferences, and professional organizations.

QualificationsDoctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) required. Postgraduate training or specialization in cattle or equine medicine is an asset. 5+ years of clinical veterinary experience. 5+ years in industry roles involving technical services, medical marketing, or veterinary operations. Proven leadership experience managing teams and budgets. Experience in strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration. Must have an active or be eligible for provincial veterinary license and in good standing. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence and educate diverse audiences. Ability to simplify complex scientific concepts and translate them into actionable business insights. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with clinical research and scientific literature review. Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Definir les objectifs strategiques et gerer efficacement les budgets et les ressources du departement. Collaborer avec les equipes interfonctionnelles (Marketing, Ventes, Reglementation, Pharmacovigilance, VMRD) pour aligner les strategies veterinaires sur les objectifs commerciaux. Fournir un leadership medical et technique pour les activites bovines et equines au sein de l'unite d'affaires Animaux de production. Soutenir les essais cliniques et les etudes post-commercialisation afin de generer des donnees renforcant le positionnement des produits et la confiance des clients. Travailler en etroite collaboration avec les equipes de soutien produit et de reglementation pour offrir des conseils precis et cibles, assurant une experience client exceptionnelle grace a une approche proactive et axee sur les solutions. Contribuer a l'elaboration et a la mise en oeuvre des plans de lancement de produits, des outils promotionnels et des programmes de formation pour les parties prenantes internes et externes. Aider a identifier les opportunites de leadership Zoetis au sein de la profession veterinaire. Gerer l'utilisation efficace du programme et du budget des essais cliniques pour soutenir les strategies marketing. Etablir et maintenir des relations avec les leaders d'opinion, les facultes veterinaires, les associations et les clients commerciaux. Representer Zoetis lors d'evenements de l'industrie, de conferences et au sein d'organisations professionnelles.

ExigencesDoctorat en medecine veterinaire (DMV ou equivalent) requis. Une formation postdoctorale ou une specialisation en medecine bovine ou equine est un atout. Minimum de 5 ans d'experience clinique veterinaire. Minimum de 5 ans d'experience dans l'industrie dans des roles lies aux services techniques, au marketing medical ou aux operations veterinaires. Experience averee en gestion d'equipe et de budgets. Experience en planification strategique et en collaboration interfonctionnelle. Doit detenir ou etre admissible a un permis veterinaire provincial et etre en regle. Excellentes competences interpersonnelles et en communication; capacite a influencer et a eduquer des publics varies. Capacite a simplifier des concepts scientifiques complexes et a les traduire en informations commerciales exploitables. Maitrise de la suite Microsoft Office; familiarite avec la recherche clinique et la revue de litterature scientifique. Le bilinguisme (francais/anglais) est un atout.
