This role involves close collaboration with internal partners such as the Strategic Transformation Office, Student Services, Langara Global and Information Technology Services to identify and prioritize communications and marketing opportunities, translating them into an annual communications and marketing plan that benefits the college overall. The role collaborates with departmental leadership for proactive planning and relationship management.The Associate Director oversees a team dedicated to delivering industry-leading brand and creative content that drives enrolment, including recruitment and retention. This includes langara.ca and a variety of digital channels including a modern intranet, as well as print marketing materials. This role includes direct oversight of the Manager, Brand and Digital Experience and the Manager, Enrolment Communications and Marketing, ensuring that their teams\xe2\x80\x99 efforts align with identified priorities, portraying Langara College as a trusted place to teach, work and study. The Associate Director works in concert with the Associate Director of Faculty Relations and the Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing to define and implement the optimal service model, team guidelines, and workflows for the team.. The Associate Director, Enrolment Communications and Marketing plays a vital role in ensuring that communication strategies align with the college\'s broader goals and support the modernization of Langara College\'s communications and marketing function.Qualifications Required:Education & Experience:Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related discipline, such as Communications, Arts and Social Sciences, Business Administration, or Higher Education field.Minimum eight (8) years of directly related experience in Communications and Marketing in managerial capacity, including a minimum of five (5) years partnering with Student Services, I.T. Services, and external agencies in a Higher Education environment.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Ample experience collaborating with internal partners on student recruitment materials.Ample experience collaborating with internal partners on strategy related to current student communication.Excellent knowledge of the British Columbia and Canadian education systems.Excellent knowledge of Communications technology \xe2\x80\x93 including web CMS, DAM, and social media management platforms.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills.Experience overseeing internal resources like a brand toolkit.Experience supervising and managing unionized staff, including hiring, evaluating, and mentoring subordinates.Excellent knowledge of the British Columbia and Canadian education systems.Good knowledge of Communications \xe2\x80\x93 either as a client or member of a Higher Education Communications team \xe2\x80\x93 is an asset.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills.Demonstrated experience surfacing student success stories for publication by a Communications team.Demonstrated experience in the development of data-driven strategies and plans, including reputation management.Considerable knowledge of publishing, print, and multi-media design and production processes.Demonstrated experience in project management methodologies and processes.Demonstrated experience in managing human resources including hiring, supervising, recruitment, training, and performance management of staff, preferably in a complex unionized environment.Experience with marketing partnerships and sponsorships in a public sector environment.Experience in developing and managing budgets.Leadership CompetenciesCollegiality - values and demonstrates inclusivity, openness, civility and respect.Problem solving and decision making - considers a wide range of information and perspectives to solve problems and make reasoned decisions; demonstrates composure with uncertain and ambiguous conditions.Organizational awareness - understands and appreciates an organization\'s internal culture and operating practices as well as the political and business climate in which the organization operates.Innovation - welcomes, generates, and implements new ideas and solutions that help to achieve and organization\'s strategic goals.Student Focus - making decisions with the students in mind, focusing on providing the best possible experience for the student.Integrity - acts with openness, honesty and respect to build and maintain an environment of trust.Professional maturity - demonstrates courage to take on issues and make tough decisions while managing self with aplomb and emotional maturity.Tenacity, resilience and patience - believes that own actions and efforts will overcome obstacles, make progress and attain successful results.Business awareness - considers and understand the financial, operational and human perspective and impact of decisions.Visioning and Strategic Thinking - energizes people around the vision and keeps the bigger picture in mind.Team Leadership - creates team spirit and helps to direct individuals toward achievement of team and organizational goals.
