Job Description

1. Position Summary/Scope of Service:

To assist the Director of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis to develop and
implement religious education and faith formation programs in the Archdiocese and

its parishes.

2. Qualifications

a. Educational

Two university degrees, with one undergraduate or graduate degree in theology Several years of personal faith formation in one or more formal programs, e.g.
formation in a Catholic seminary (minor or major), Catholic faith institute, membership

in a Religious order

b. Skills

Ability to adapt to a broad variety of environments and quickly changing situations. Good English reading comprehension and oral communication skills Thorough knowledge of Catholic sacramental theology and rites, and the magisterial
teachings of the Church.

c. Personal

Have a vocation to religious life or the Catholic priesthood (preferred). Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Available to work evenings and weekends.

4. Duties and Responsibilities

a. Formation and Training

Deliver training on sacramental preparation programs to parish and school lay
catechists in the archdiocese.

Deliver training in using faith formation programs to parish leaders, teams and
catechists in the archdiocese.

Facilitate programs and events of evangelization and catechesis in the archdiocese.
b. Programming and Resources

Contribute to the development of sacramental preparation programs for use in
parishes and schools in the archdiocese.

Provide support to parishes to set up and deliver faith formation programs and
activities.

Counsel and advise parish priests, leaders, teams and catechists on resources for the

ministry of evangelization and catechesis programs and services available to parishes

of the archdiocese.

c. Other

Work with the Director of Evangelization and Catechesis and the Faith Formation
Committee to implement the elements of the diocesan pastoral plan for

evangelization and catechesis.

Help build unity and communion in the diocesan church. Attend to other related duties and tasks as may be assigned, from time to time, by the
Director of Evangelization and Catechism.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
